The Dodgers star had hits in all six of his plate appearances, including three home runs, and collected 10 RBIs, setting a new single-game franchise record.

Ohtani also stole two bases, securing his status as the first player in MLB history to have 50 homers and 50 steals in the same season. In fact, he also became the first player on the 51-51 club.

James wasn’t the only athlete to acknowledge Ohtani’s performance. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes were also impressed by the 30-year-old’s performance.

Ohtani helped the Dodgers improve to 91-62 and secure their 12th consecutive postseason berth.

After signature a 10-year, $700 million contract to join the team in free agency, the two-way superstar has been dominant offensively in his first year with the organization. While he hasn’t been able to showcase his talent on the mound in 2024 due to Tommy John surgery, he’s still living up to his hefty contract.

In addition to his 51 homers and 51 steals, Ohtani also has 120 RBIs to his name. He is batting .294, while his .629 slugging percentage and 1.005 OPS are both tops among all National League players.
