Labor sets new record for tax revenue

London | Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s new Labor government has set course for the highest tax revenues in modern British history as he bets he can get the economy and public services back on track before he faces voters again in 2029 .

The £40 billion ($79 billion) package of tax increases in the Budget that Chancellor Rachel Reeves unveiled late on Wednesday (AEDT) would increase taxation as a percentage of gross domestic product to a record 38.2 percent.
