LA Rams Rumors, Breaking News & Analysis

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4:00 PM ET, meaning teams have less than 24 hours to make trades for the remainder of the season. The Los Angeles Rams have made some major mid-season trades in recent years, including deals to acquire Von Miller and Jalen Ramsey, so they are always a team to watch.

While it’s unlikely they’ll pull off a blockbuster trade before Tuesday’s deadline, it’s possible they could acquire a contributor or trade someone away to recoup draft assets. We keep track of all the latest news surrounding the Rams, including rumors, reports, and a breakdown of which players can be dealt.

It’s unlikely the Rams will trade Cooper Kupp

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Rams are not expected to trade Kupp. He doubts whether a deal will be reached, partly because of the asking price. According to Breer, the Rams have told teams it will cost more to acquire Kupp than what the Jets paid for Davante Adams — which was a conditional third-round pick that could become a second-round pick.

I doubt the Los Angeles Rams will trade Cooper Kupp — they told other teams it would cost more than Adams did against the New York Jets — because his value likely wouldn’t match his market value. And it became less likely when Puka Nacua got into trouble during training this week. But they could eventually move veteran corner Tre’Davious White.

Sean McVay doesn’t expect LA to be active

McVay told reporters on Monday that he doesn’t think the Rams will be very active at the trade deadline. The most likely move Los Angeles could make is a deal involving Tre’Davious White, who the team is shopping in an attempt to get him to contribute elsewhere.

Positions that Rams could target before the deadline

Cornerback: The Rams have depth with Darious Williams, Cobie Durant, Ahkello Witherspoon and rookies Charles Woods and Josh Wallace, but Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the latest receiver to suit up against the Rams, something that is a common trend for receivers coming up this year in Los Angeles years.

Inside linebacker: Troy Reeder is on injured reserve and while Christian Rozeboom played well against the Seahawks, it is still the weakest position on the roster.

Defensive line: Due to the play of Braden Fiske, Bobby Brown III and Tyler Davis, there may not be such a great need for this now, while Neville Gallimore should also return from injury soon.

Edge slider: Jared Verse, Byron Young and Michael Hoecht have been a good trio at outside linebacker, but the team has almost no depth behind these three – something that could be a problem if one of them gets injured.

Players that could be traded

CB Tre’Davious White: White is the most likely trade candidate for the Rams, and the team has been open about the possibility of dealing him. He is currently on the bench and has been a healthy player for the past four games.

W. R. Tutu Atwell: Atwell’s role is all but gone now that Kupp and Puka Nacua are healthy again, playing just nine snaps in Weeks 8 and 26 on Sunday. With Los Angeles’ depth at wideout, Atwell could be the odd man out.

S John Johnson III: Johnson remains on injured reserve and in his absence the Rams have gotten some impressive play from their safeties – including Kam Curl, Quentin Lake, Kam Kinchens and Jaylen McCollough. Johnson wouldn’t have much value, but he could be expendable in LA
