Kerr reveals unsurprising moment he was angriest with Draymond

Kerr reveals the unsurprising moment he was angriest with Draymond originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

There have been a few moments when Warriors coach Steve Kerr has been frustrated with veteran forward Draymond Green, but one moment stands out.

Kerr was a guest on the latest episode of the “Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz,” where he was asked at what point in his 10 seasons coaching Green was he angriest with the fiery forward.

“Well, there are a lot of examples,” Kerr said with a laugh.

“I definitely think the Jordan Poole incident. Draymond and I are very similar in a lot of ways, people probably wouldn’t see it from the outside, but we’re both kind of maniacal competitors and we’ve gotten really mad at each other, during games, over whatever disagreements we had about strategy. But he crossed the line on Jordan and he knows it, he knew it right away. And that made that season incredibly difficult for everyone. That story has been retold many times, but that was probably the moment I was the angriest.”

According to Green, the moment was not only detrimental to the Warriors’ 2022-23 NBA season, but also the most serious confrontation Green has been involved in during his 12-year NBA career.

This incident, and others over the years, are well-documented and will haunt the four-time NBA All-Star for the rest of his career.

However, Green’s role as enforcer has been critical during each of the Warriors’ four championship runs and will be just as important in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
