Keanu Reeves Makes His Debut As Shadow In Paramount Pic

Paramount Pictures released a trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, offers a new look at the confrontation between Sonic (Ben Schwartz) and his new adversary Shadow the Hedgehog, voiced by Keanu Reeves.

First introduced in the video game Sonic Adventure 2 Created in 2001 by Professor Gerald Robotnik, the grandfather of Sonic’s arch-nemesis, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), Shadow is a character who is considered the greatest villain of all time. Possessing extraordinary speed, as well as Chaos Control, a power that allows him to manipulate space and time, he is initially depicted as an antagonist to Sonic, though he eventually becomes an ally in the Sega video games on which the film franchise is based.

The film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20, Sonic The threequel’s plot details have been kept under wraps until now. The Sonic The first two films in the franchise grossed over $319 million worldwide at the box office. Jeff Fowler directed all three films, working from a script by Pat Casey & Josh Miller and John Whittington, based on a story by Casey & Miller.

Next to Reeves, Krysten Ritter is the most notable new addition to the Sonic ensemble in the third film. Her role is still under wraps. Other returning cast members include Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Tika Sumpter, and Elba. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno produced, with executive producers Haruki Satomi, Shuji Utsumi, Yukio Sugino, Fowler, Tommy Gormley, and Tim Miller.
