KD hilariously references Klay’s four-finger flex after Olympic win

KD hilariously references Klay’s four-finger flex after Olympic win originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

Kevin Durant is ready to show off as Klay Thompson.

During an appearance at Fanatics Fest this past weekend, former NBA player Jalen Rose asked the former Warriors superstar, who won his fourth Olympic gold medal with Team USA earlier this month, if winning gold medals is getting old for him.

His answer?

An expected response from a proven winner – and a humorous nod to former teammate Thompson.

“No, it doesn’t,” Durant said. “I’m going to hit the Klay, walk around with my 4s up.”

Over the years, Thompson has not held back from reminding opponents of the four NBA championships on his resume.

Last season, the ex-Warrior counted to four during an altercation with forward Dillon Brooks.

Meanwhile, Thompson’s competitive nature in 2022 saw him repeatedly remind Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns of his four championship rings with Golden State.

And while it remains to be seen whether Durant can match Thompson’s energy on the court, Durant’s gold medal count now goes hand-in-hand with Thompson’s rings count.

One thing is for sure: Durant doesn’t take his on-court successes for granted.

“To be around special guests, because I was there when Kobe (Bryant) was 36,” Durant added.

“I was 23, we played together in 2012. You could see how excited he was and he had achieved everything at that point. Five championships, two Finals MVPs, 30,000 points.

“He had done everything and was still excited about the opportunity to be around great players. And that’s exactly how I felt about it this time.”
