Kayla Harrison excited about potential of PFL’s Dakota Ditcheva

Kayla Harrison believes Dakota Ditcheva is destined for big things in MMA.

The UFC bantamweight champion combines what she sees from her American Top Team teammate Ditcheva in her former promotion – the PFL. Harrison (17-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC), a former two-time PFL champion, sees a lot of potential in Ditcheva, who is undefeated in her MMA career and 7-0 since signing with the PFL.

“She’s a killer,” Harrison told MMA Junkie and other reporters on the red carpet at the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday. “She is the future of MMA. I think she’s only going to get better.

“She is young. She is hungry. She is disciplined. She is motivated. She has a good head on her shoulders. She has a great team around her and I think the sky is the limit for her.”

As for her own career, Harrison fought exclusively under the PFL until her most recent appearance in April at UFC 300, where she debuted with a submission victory over Holly Holm. Harrison is grateful for her participation in the PFL, but is happy to now be part of the UFC.

“It’s a whole new beast, a whole new animal, and honestly, I’m very grateful for it,” Harrison said. “I know in the past I was impatient or maybe not completely satisfied with where I was or what I was doing, but that’s not the case anymore. I truly believe that everything happens at the right time and the right place, and I’m excited to be part of this promotion.

“I feel like this is my home and that I will end my career here with a lot of gold.”
