Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter responds to reports that she was hospitalized over the US election results

Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff took to social media to debunk rumors that she was hospitalized after suffering a nervous breakdown following the results of the 2024 presidential election. Per E! Newsit seemed like Ella looked distraught when she initially shared her thoughts on Trump’s re-election.

But she made it clear that the rumors about her hospitalization were not true. “Okay, I’m just going to say it,” she shared on her Instagram Story on November 9. “There is a rumor that I am having a nervous breakdown and being admitted to a hospital. Not true. And f–k you if you spread that.

“There is nothing wrong with showing emotions and crying,” she added. “Anyone who says it is probably needs a good cry.”

Ella, who shared the post with a photo of herself and her dog, also emphatically stated that she was not ashamed to admit she had mental health issues. “I have struggled with my mental health my entire life and I am not ashamed of it,” she wrote. “I literally just came here playing fetch with Jerry (her dog).”

Ella’s birth mother, Kerstin Emhoff, also sent messages of support to her daughter in a post on X. “Leave my children alone!!!!” Kerstin wrote. “Ella is doing great and spending a wonderful day with her mother! Having the ability to show your emotions is something we should all hope for. It’s okay not to feel great right now. We will not allow anyone to destroy their family.”

Ella cleared the air about her mental health condition after sharing words of encouragement with people who may have been disappointed with the outcome of the election.

“We will all get through this,” she shared alongside a photo of herself watching Harris deliver her concession speech. E! News reported. “It just hurts like ab-h right now and that’s okay.”

“The fight doesn’t stop now,” she added. “Please come and see your people right now. Now is the time to organize, mobilize and make a difference in your communities, big or small.”
