Kamala Harris makes surprise appearance on NBA podcast

My colleagues at Vox.com are among the media outlets calling on US Vice President Kamala Harris to give more interviews to the press in the run-up to the 2024 US presidential election. It appears their calls have been heard.

According to Semafor’s Max Tani, the 2024 Democratic presidential candidate not only appeared on Wisconsin Public Radio, she also recorded an interview with two of the most respected journalists of our time: former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, for their podcast “All the Smoke.”

This is, of course, big news. Not only do potential voters deserve to know Harris’s positions on major policy debates like “Are the Knicks Real Contenders?” they should also know her opinions on historical issues, like whether watching Barnes, Jackson and the rest of the “We Believe” crew trash the Dallas Mavericks in 2007 has affected her opinion of Dirk Nowitzki’s legacy. Most of all, the public deserves to be reminded who she casually forgot was a bucket, and what her welcome-to-the-NBA moment was.

There’s no word yet on when the episode featuring Harris will air, but hopefully it answers all of these burning questions and more… or at the very least lets us know which member of the “We Believe” Warriors was Harris’ favorite (any answer other than Monta Ellis should, frankly, be disqualifying).

We’ll find out when it airs. You can keep an eye on their YouTube channel.
