Kai Havertz angers Chelsea fans after claiming it ‘would mean MORE’ to win Champions League with Arsenal – as they snap back at ‘ungrateful’ Gunners star

Kai Havertz has incited Chelsea fans with his comments after Arsenal’s Champions League win over PSG.

Havertz, 25, scored the opening goal in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over the French giants on Tuesday, continuing his impressive start to the season.

The German has scored five times in nine games in all competitions as he goes from strength to strength in his second year at the Emirates after joining from Chelsea for £65 million last summer.

At Stamford Bridge, Havertz was part of the Blues side that won the Champions League in 2020/21.

Havertz wrote himself into Chelsea folklore by scoring the winner in the final against Man City as Thomas Tuchel’s side won 1-0.

However, after the Gunners’ win on Tuesday, Havertz – who has scored 32 goals in 139 appearances for the Blues – drew the ire of Chelsea supporters when asked about Arsenal’s progress in Europe’s elite club competition.

“Winning the Champions League is a nice feeling,” he said. ‘But it would be even better if I could do that at Arsenal!’

“It would mean a lot more.”

Several Chelsea fans were quick to hit back at the 25-year-old as they took to social media to express their views.

One furious fan said: ‘When you score the second biggest goal in Chelsea history and are hated by all the fans, that should tell you how bad Havertz is.’

Another added: “I’ve never seen anyone as ungrateful as this man.”

Other supporters chimed in and were critical of Havertz expressing his views so publicly.

One said: ‘He almost won for us after almost blowing a big chance… and he thinks he can do it at Arsenal? Poor boy lmao,” before another chimed in: “We made you, idiot.”

Arsenal reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season before being knocked out by Bayern Munich.

The Gunners are one of the favorites for this year’s competition, evidenced by their comfortable victory over PSG, but many other fans poured cold water on Havertz’s ambitions to lift the trophy again.

One said: “I hate to break it to you, Kai, but that never happens. Bad luck.’

Meanwhile, another supporter added: “Good luck with that,” before a final fan said: “That won’t happen at Arsenal though.”

Arsenal are currently eighth in the Champions League stage after a draw and a win in their two matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side face further games in the league against Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon, Monaco, Dinamo Zagreb and Girona.

They are back in action on Saturday when they take on struggling Southampton at home in the Premier League.
