Juventus wants to accelerate for Koopmeiners after Miretti injury

Juventus are expected to sign Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners after Fabio Miretti’s painful injury.

The 20-year-old Italian midfielder suffered a compound fracture in his right foot during a pre-season training session with the Old Lady. The injury is expected to sideline him for at least 30 days and miss the start of the Serie A season.

After months of interest, Juventus are finally making moves for Koopmeiners, submitting a €45 million offer to Atalanta. This bid was rejected after a price tag of €60 million was set in Bergamo, forcing the Old Lady to raise the terms.

Juventus put pressure on Koopmeiners

Page 15 of today’s Tuttosport highlights how Juventus CEO Cristiano Giuntoli is expected to accelerate talks with Atalanta in an attempt to seal a deal for Koopmeiners quickly, wanting the Dutch midfielder in the squad at the start of the Serie A season following Miretti’s injury.

The 26-year-old is considered a priority for the Old Lady, meaning the deal for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo could be put on hold for the time being in order to allow a transfer for the Atalanta star man.
