Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are engaged after rumors of a breakup

Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have taken their relationship to the next level. Per We weeklythe couple announced on Sunday that they were officially engaged at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles.

Good, 43, showed off her engagement ring on the red carpet as she and Majors, 35, posed for photos. “(The) Ebony Power 100 is the event where we met in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” Good said E! News about their decision to announce their engagement at the event.

Good’s rep gave the update on the couple’s relationship status after a guest The Rickey Smiley Morning Show initially claimed that she and Majors had gone their separate ways.

“They are not broken up. In fact, they will be attending the Ebony 100 Gala together,” the rep shared TMZ. During a red carpet interview with PEOPLE at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles in March, Good opened up about her relationship with Majors and said she was in a better place.

That event marked the first time the couple appeared at a prominent awards show after Majors was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Majors’ conviction in December 2023 stems from an incident in March 2023 in downtown Manhattan that involved a heated argument with Jabbari.

Although Majors has been spared prison time, the consequences of his guilty verdict are already impacting him outside the courtroom. The guilty verdict resulted in his removal from his Marvel role as Kang the Conqueror.

Despite her current boyfriend’s legal troubles, Good confirmed that they were in a good situation and also gave an update on her personal life.

“I’m in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing (and) I’m getting excited about the future,” she said at the time. “Yes, just a lot of things at the same time. But what I can say is that I am the happiest I have been in a long time.”
