Jhon Duran has asked his advisors to make the transfer to West Ham a success

Aston Villa’s John Duran has reportedly asked his advisers to try and find a solution so he can join West Ham.

Duran was linked with a move to Chelsea earlier this summer, but the club’s interest cooled and the Blues have since agreed a £35million deal with Atletico Madrid to sign Samu Omorodion.

Earlier this summer, a bid from The Hammers for the Colombian was rejected, but they have now completed the arrival of Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.

The Colombian joined Villa from MLS club Chicago Fire in January 2023 and made 37 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring eight goals as Villa secured Champions League qualification.

Villa have been busy strengthening their squad in preparation for their Champions League campaign, signing the likes of Ian Maatsen, Amadou Onana and Jaden Philogene, while record signing Moussa Diaby has left to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Duran’s future remains unclear as there have so far been no interested parties willing to pay Aston Villa’s stated £40m valuation.

However, exWHUemployee has revealed via Patreon that Duran, who was part of the Colombian squad that reached the Copa America final, would like to see the team move to the London Stadium and has asked his advisors to find a solution to make this happen.

It is unclear whether West Ham are still looking for another striker now that Fullkrug has been signed. However, with the start of the season and the end of the transfer window approaching, Duran could find himself in a difficult situation as he is still at Villa and has made it clear that he wants to leave the club.

It seems West Ham are primarily looking for a new right-back, having recently been linked with the arrival of Kieran Trippier from Newcastle.
