Jhon Duran could end up at Chelsea

As long as the transfer window is still open, expect Chelsea to be a key player.

Especially during the past few summers, the Blues have been haphazardly bringing in talent while simultaneously letting go of as many players as possible.

This has not resulted in a consistent playing style and it is therefore not surprising that the results have been tailored accordingly.

There appears to be little coherence in the club’s purchasing policy, which has had a negative rather than positive effect on the squad as a whole.

Chelsea’s striker options could be determined by Aston Villa

With Enzo Maresca now manager, the club will be hoping the Italian can succeed where the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard have failed.

A 6-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers was a taste of what is to come for the Blues, and that’s without the new striker rumoured to be on the west Londoner’s wish list.

According to CaughtOffside columnist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks are reportedly underway with Napoli player Victor Osimhen.

Premier League rivals Aston Villa, however, could hold the key to Chelsea’s last-minute transfers this summer.

According to Give Me Sport, there is still a chance that Jhon Duran will be the striker walking the corridors of Stamford Bridge before the 11pm deadline on Friday.

He would be a cheaper option, which Chelsea may consider given their efforts to stay within Financial Fair Play rules.

Osimhen’s story has continued throughout the summer and now we are almost at the final transfer window with the Nigerian still undecided whether the Premier League or the Saudi Pro League will be his next football destination.

Duran is an energetic striker with a clear nose for goals and it will be interesting to see if he is still playing at Villa Park on Saturday morning.
