The New York Jets have been making headlines throughout the 2024 season so far, but it appears they will be quiet in the days leading up to the November 5 trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets “have enough cap space to pick up another veteran,” but “the feeling is they’re done with blockbusters.”

New York has $15.7 million in remaining salary cap space, even after acquiring star receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders and adding star edge rusher Haason Reddick to the roster following his months-long holdout.

Still, there appears to be no quick fix for a team that has lost four games in a row after entering the year with high expectations. The Jets have struggled to find a rhythm as veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers struggled in his first year back with a torn Achilles tendon that cost him virtually the entire 2023 season.

Cimini pointed out that New York has enough assets to add some depth to the tight spots, but another big-name acquisition coming to the Big Apple doesn’t seem likely.

“The Jets have a pick in every round of the 2025 draft, so there is no shortage of draft capital to make a small trade to improve their depth at safety or tight end,” Cimini said. “There just comes a point where you have to say enough is enough.”
