Jennifer Garner is reportedly done with Jennifer Lopez amid her divorce from ex Ben Affleck

Just a year ago, Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were amicably co-parenting in their blended family. Now that Bennifer 2.0 is over for good, Garner is reportedly pulling out of her friendship with Lopez.

The 52-year-old actress “no longer wants” to keep in touch with Lopez – their relationship will revolve solely around their children, according to a report Daily mail source. This change came about slowly after Garner felt like she was being dumped in the middle of Affleck’s divorce drama. She was dragged into the role of “playing mediator” and “marriage counselor” as the former dynamic duo hit it out over the spring and summer. It doesn’t sound like a healthy place to exist.

Her friends think she shouldn’t have let herself get so involved in helping J.Lo fix her marriage to Ben,” the insider added. “Especially considering how Jen felt towards JLo at times during their own marriage. Jen is too nice and really wanted to help, so she tried.

Things started to heat up when Garner and Affleck’s eldest daughter, Violet, 18, spent time with J.Lo in the Hamptons over the summer. “They both seem so happy to be spending this time together and are just enjoying the moment,” the source said People in July. But Lopez’s younger sister, Lynda, recently visited the freshman at Yale University and things reportedly came to a head there. The ties to the Lopez family make Garner and her ex-husband feel uneasy.

“It’s quite confusing for Ben and Jen (Garner) because they don’t understand why Violet is so adamant about keeping her close,” a second source told the paper. Daily mail early November. “She looks up to J.Lo and Lynda and wants to keep the bond alive.”

The decision to part ways with Lopez could be the best for everyone, as the “I’m Real” singer reportedly didn’t like how Affleck always ran to Garner in times of trouble. “He confides in Jen about everything, even his issues with J. Lo,” an insider said Weekly contact in May. “J.Lo hates that Ben goes back to his sensible, level-headed ex-wife for advice and emotional support. She doesn’t want Jen’s input.’

That’s why the saying “three is a crowd” exists in the first place. With Garner leaving the situation, it opens up space for Affleck and Lopez to finalize their divorce and move on with their lives separately.
