A famous Australian father has been found dead after failing to attend his mother’s funeral.

Gold Coast surfer Jeffrey James Norris disappeared last Wednesday after taking a walk in the woods to clear his head before attending the funeral.

But when the 38-year-old failed to show up, his concerned partner Brooke Stone reported him missing to police.

A search was launched and his body was found three days later.

Tragically, Mr Norris had slipped during the walk and suffered horrific injuries which led to his death.

His devastated partner told DailyMail Australia she believed he would have died instantly.

“It appears a stick went straight through the main artery of his leg,” Ms Stone said.

“He also had some head injuries. We’re still waiting for the coroner to get back to us, but I’m pretty sure he would have died instantly.”

A GoFundMe has been started to help the popular surfer partner and their two-year-old son Lucky during these difficult times.

“Donations will go towards funeral expenses and to provide support with future living expenses for Brooke and Lucky,” the GoFundMe said.

“Jeffy was a true legend and a great friend to all who knew him. We will remember him for his kind heart and unique character.”

The fundraiser has a goal of $100,000 and more than $30,000 has been raised so far.
