Jefferson County man arrested on child sex abuse charges

DENVER – A Jefferson County man wanted in a child molestation case in August has been arrested in Denver, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, 20-year-old Jesus Alberto Pereira Castillo was taken into custody by Jefferson County deputies on Tuesday.

Castillo is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on Aug. 29 at a home in Jefferson County.

Investigators said Castillo temporarily stayed in the basement of his employer’s home and allegedly forced himself on the homeowner’s 14-year-old daughter.

Officers were called to the address shortly after the alleged assault, but Castillo left the home before they arrived.

The 20-year-old was booked into the Jefferson County Jail and made his first court appearance Wednesday.
