Their seven-season journey together transformed them into a powerful duo, all leading up to their championship celebration in 2024.

Jayson Tatum Clarifies His Stance on Jaylen Brown Brown Trade Rumors

Jayson Tatum has opened up about the rumors surrounding the speculated trade of his teammate Jaylen Brown. Critics have long suggested that the successful partnership between Tatum and Brown should end.

In particular, rumors of a trade involving Brown have been circulating for years. Tatum recently admitted that he may not have done enough to convey his desire for Brown to remain with the team.

As quoted by Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated,

“I always told him that maybe I should have expressed my feelings out in the open. He always knew I wanted him there. I always told him, ‘Man, I’m not going to get into those conversations.’ I never went to Brad or any other player and said, ‘Yo, I want this guy in, I want this guy out.’ I show up and I want to do my job and play basketball. And when I look back on those times, I didn’t know how that was going to affect anybody because I was never in that situation. I guess maybe I should have said, ‘No, we don’t want nobody, we want JB.’ I always said, ‘I want to stay out of it.’”

There is undeniable chemistry between Tatum and Brown. When one has a remarkable night on the court, the other makes an impression. Sometimes, when Tatum is underperforming, Brown steps up, and vice versa.

Now, despite calls for a split, Tatum and Brown are enjoying victory with their first championship together. Brown, often considered secondary to Tatum, took home the Finals MVP trophy, proving he could be the better choice.

The upcoming 2024-25 season promises to be an important one for both players. Tatum has proven his worth as an MVP player and Brown seems poised to live up to the standards. Tatum is looking forward to better supporting his co-star, Brown, in the coming year, despite the challenges that may come with it.
