Jay-Z linked to Toffees takeover

The 2024/25 Premier League season has not brought much relief from the madness that appears to be raging behind the scenes at Everton Football Club.

Four defeats in the first four games have done nothing to dent the fans’ confidence that their club will still be in the English top division in a year’s time, when they will have just moved into a new, ultra-modern stadium on Bramley-Moore Quay.

Relegation to the Championship is certainly not the way for the Toffees to say goodbye to Goodison Park, but unless Sean Dyche can reverse the decline, that is exactly the direction they are heading.

Jay-Z could be part of Everton takeover bid

Mismanagement at the top, which has resulted in points being deducted for the club, has not helped Everton. However, help could be on the way in the form of businessman John Textor and possibly an incredibly high-profile financier.

According to The Sun, music mogul and rap legend Jay-Z has been contacted to invest in the Merseyside band as part of Textor’s takeover plans.

It is thought that there is still a long way to go before Textor can make the Farhad Moshiri years a thing of the past. But with someone like Jay-Z on board, things could go a lot smoother in the future.

“There is a lot of interest from American sports stars and American rap stars“, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness said on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

“I know a League Two club that has one of the biggest rappers and a consortium of NFL players trying to buy in. They find it attractive and they think it is good for their profile.

“These clubs are also good investments, so we won’t see a shortage of them.

“Jay-Z is a good businessman, and it’s an interesting one (the Everton takeover). He has a lot of money, is a proven businessman and brings with him many contacts in the commercial world.

“He wouldn’t be a bad co-investor.”
