In an interview after the incident, Chan underlined that he must assure the production staff that everything is fine so that they do not require him to have a stunt double.

“It’s no big deal. I must assure everyone else (that I am well); otherwise they would want me to use a stunt double. If I just sat there while they used a stunt double and just filmed my close-ups after he was done, I would feel very guilty! he explained.

Fans expressed their concerns for the kung fu star, stating that this is probably the “right time” for Chan to stop doing his own stunts.

“At the age of 70, he should no longer do dangerous stunts and let the younger stuntmen do the work. We know that he wanted to do his best to produce a good movie by performing the stunt himself, just like he had done in his younger years, but when age catches up with him, he has to learn to let go and let others to have it done,” he said. one netizen.
