Israel Hezbollah War Live Updates: After Israel Kills Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar, Prime Minister Netanyahu Says ‘The War Is Still Not Over’

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensified clashes on Wednesday, with Hezbollah fighters attacking Israeli forces in southern Lebanon at close range. Israeli airstrikes targeted Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon, causing significant damage and casualties, including the death of a mayor in Nabatiyeh. The Israeli army also launched an attack on the Syrian port city of Latakia, sparking fires. Syrian air defenses responded, but the extent of the damage remains unclear.

In Gaza, following pressure from the US, Israel allowed 50 aid trucks from Jordan into northern Gaza, delivering food, water and medical supplies. However, aid agencies report that this is insufficient to meet urgent needs, especially as Israel has intensified its siege in northern Gaza. Meanwhile, Qatar stated that there have been no active ceasefire negotiations in the past three to four weeks, indicating a lack of progress toward de-escalation.

The Pentagon confirmed that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant about ongoing operations and humanitarian aid measures. Despite international calls for restraint, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has rejected attempts at a ceasefire and maintained a firm stance on the conflict.
