Israel announces upcoming attacks in Lebanon and says it will target Hezbollah’s financial arm

The Israeli military is now turning its sights on Hezbollah’s financial arm with plans to attack “a large number of targets” in Beirut and elsewhere in the very near future.

Hezbollah is the Iranian-backed terrorist militia group based in Lebanon, a country it largely controls.

Israeli military spokesman Rear. Admiral Daniel Hagari says they will issue evacuation warnings for people in parts of Beirut, and that “anyone near the locations used to finance Hezbollah’s terrorist activities is required to immediately stay away from them .”

The planned attack will target Al-Qard al-Hassan, a senior Israeli intelligence official said, according to The Associated Press. It is a registered non-profit organization, approved by both the US and Saudi Arabia, that provides financial services and is also used by ordinary Lebanese.

Al-Qard al-Hassan is a unit within Hezbollah and is used to pay the group’s operatives and help buy weapons, the official added. Israel successfully attacked and killed Hezbollah’s longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, last month. Hezbollah has fired more than 10,000 rockets into Israel since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel on October 7 last year.
