INEOS Grenadiers are said to have signed a contract with one of Primoz Roglic’s key servants

Red Bull – BORA – hangrohe has so far managed to keep Primoz Roglic in the fight for victory in the Tour de France, although the withdrawal of Aleksandr Vlasov is a significant blow. However, one of his other domestiques, Bob Jungels, is said to have signed a deal with INEOS Grenadiers.

This has been reported by Daniel Benson, who is on the ground at the Tour. He claims that this deal has already been confirmed, will start in 2025 and will last for two seasons until the finale of the 2026 season – and that it should be made public as soon as we enter the month of August. This is a blow to the German team that is currently trying to succeed with the Slovenian, but will probably continue to do so for the next few years and will lose an important weapon for that mission here.

The 31-year-old has years of experience at World Tour level and was set to join the British team as a domestique for riders such as Carlos Rodríguez and Egan Bernal in the Grand Tours. The Luxembourger started his career on his own as a promising contender for the Grand Tours, finishing in the top 10 of the Giro d’Italia twice in 2016 and 2017, but he would never break that barrier again in the future.

He also briefly focused on the spring classics and in 2018 he achieved the biggest success of his career there: the victory in Liège-Bastogne-Liège with a long solo attack. The following year he won Kuurne – Brussels – Kuurne and became part of the Soudal – Quick-Step cobbled classics block. At the end of 2020, however, he seemed to have his own leadership and freedom and switched to AG2R. A move that proved successful, because in 2022 he took a Tour de France victory in Châtel.

In 2023 he signed with BORA – hansgrohe and since then he has not won an individual victory, but has become part of the team’s block for the grand tours. He is currently riding the Tour de France and is an important part of the support for Primoz Roglic.
