India’s 2024 T20 World Cup Victory Parade: Where to Watch the Festivities

The Indian cricket governing body, the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI), has announced a victory parade for the Indian cricket team to mark their victory at the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies.

The Men in Blue arrive in India’s capital Delhi on Thursday this week after beating Aiden Markram’s South Africa by a margin of seven runs in a highly entertaining final of the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup in the city of Barbados on June 29.

After winning their second T20 World Cup trophy, the Men in Blue were stuck in Barbados due to the threat of a hurricane. The BCCI then arranged a special Air India charter flight for all the team members and support staff to help them travel back to India safely.

The Indian cricket team will land in the Indian capital Delhi at 6am on Thursday. They will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast at 11am. After meeting the Prime Minister, the team led by Rohit Sharma will travel to Mumbai in a chartered flight for the victory parade.

The Indian Cricket Federation will also felicitate and honour the Men in Blue with a huge prize pool of INR 125 Crore at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also invited all cricket fans to join the Rohit Sharma-led team in celebrating the 2024 T20 World Cup victory.

“Indian fans, join us for the Victory Parade as we celebrate India’s T20 World Cup triumph! Come to Mumbai’s iconic Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4 from 5:00 PM IST to celebrate the triumph with us!” Shah wrote on his X-handle.

Captain Rohit Sharma also wrote a special message on his X-handle for the fans of the Indian cricket team so that they could attend the victory parade along with them.

“India, let’s celebrate our World Cup victory with a victory parade at Wankhede and Marine Drive on 4th July at 5:00 PM IST. Bringing the trophy home♥🏆,” Sharma wrote on his X-handle.

A victory parade for the winners of the 2024 T20 World Cup will be attended by Rohit Sharma and his team, who will take part in a parade on an open-top bus in the city of Mumbai.

The victory parade will start from NCPA, Nariman Point and end at Wankhede Stadium. The parade will start from 17:00 hrs IST.

A similar parade was held in the past for the MS Dhoni-led team after they won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 by beating arch-rivals Pakistan in the final in Johannesburg, South Africa.
