Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is reportedly coming to PS5 next year

MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is reportedly coming to PlayStation 5 in early 2025, following a release on Xbox Series X/S and PC later this year.

That’s according to insider Nate the Hate (one of the first people to break news of Microsoft’s multi-platform plans earlier this year), who made the claim on social media. “MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch this holiday (December) on Xbox and PC as a limited-time console exclusive,” they wrote. “After this limited-time exclusivity ends, Indiana Jones & the Great Circle is scheduled to come to PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2025.”

Nate the Hate’s claim lines up with a report from The Verge in February, which suggested that Microsoft was planning to expand beyond its initial wave of relatively subdued multi-platform releases by launching several of its flagship games on competing consoles. These would include Starfield and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, with the latter reportedly arriving on the PS5 “several months” after its release on Xbox and PC.

Jumping forward to the present, Nate the Hate’s latest claim follows recent words from noted industry insider Shinobi602 that Microsoft was preparing to reveal another “big” Xbox game for PlayStation 5 sometime this week. Windows Central then threw its hat into the ring, saying there was a “high” chance that game would be Indiana Jones – which brings us all to Gamescom 2024.

Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley has already confirmed that the Great Circle will be featured during the show, which airs in the UK on August 20 from 7pm BST. That would make a logical point for Microsoft to announce a release date for Indy on Xbox and PC, and share some breaking news about the multiplatform mode.

Microsoft has only confirmed a handful of first-party Xbox titles for competing platforms so far, namely Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment. However, a report from May claimed that the company’s bosses were insisting on no “red line” around the release of Xbox games for PlayStation.
