Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh on Tuesday clinched India’s second medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The shooting duo won bronze in the 10m mixed team air pistol event.

Manu made history on Sunday by becoming the first Indian female shooter to win an Olympic medal, while Sarabjot, who competed in the men’s event, failed to finish on the podium.

Manu and Sarabjot, who qualified for the bronze medal match on Monday, defeated South Korea 16-10 to double India’s shooting medal tally at the Games.

With this medal win, Manu Bhaker also became the first athlete from independent India to win multiple medals at a single Olympic Games.

India has had multiple medal winners in the history of Olympics like KD Jadhav, Abhinav Bindra, Saina Nehwal, Sushil Kumar, PV Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra and many more. But Manu Bhaker is the first and only athlete to win multiple medals in a single edition of Olympics.

Bhaker is in contention for her third medal as she competes in the 25m air rifle event.

Meanwhile, Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker received a lot of praise from the Indian cricket association on social media for making India proud by winning the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
