Independence Boulevard shut down after car crashes into utility pole

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Eastway exit of Independence Boulevard is closed after a car crashed into a utility pole Monday afternoon.

The Duke Energy contractor team and the Medic team are on site.

The accident has completely closed the road. The road will remain closed for several more hours.

This accident will have major consequences for evening traffic.
