Abhishek had a dismal start to his Indian career when he was dismissed for a duck in the first T20I on Saturday, with India eventually losing by 13 runs.

However, the hard-hitting southpaw made amends as he teamed up with Ruturaj Gaikwad to rebuild the innings. Abhishek opened his account with a six over deep mid-wicket against off-spinner Brian Bennett.

The Punjab batter was taken down by Wellington Masakadza when he was on 24 in the eighth over. He then broke the shackles in the 11th over when he smashed medium-pacer Dion Myers for 26 runs in an over on the back of three fours and two sixes.

Abhishek doubled his tally in a short span of time and became the fastest Indian to score a T20I hundred on debut, surpassing Deepak Hooda who scored his maiden T20I hundred in his third innings against Ireland.
