‘I’ll miss those electric nights’: Rafael Nadal withdraws from US Open | Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal has confirmed he will miss this month’s US Open and will play at the Laver Cup in September. The 22-time Grand Slam champion hinted after his Olympic exit that he would skip the final major of the year at Flushing Meadows.

Nadal has won the US Open four times, but has only played once since his 2019 triumph. He has struggled with injuries in recent years, fueling ongoing debate about when he will retire.

Hello everyone, I am writing to you today to let you know that I have decided not to participate in this year’s US Open, an event that I have great memories of.
I will miss the electric and special night sessions in New York with Ashe, but I don’t think I can give 100% this time.
Thank you… photo.twitter.com/FluGRWUzIp
