Hyderabad: Youth dies while performing bike stunts for reels

Hyderabad, July 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Instagram Reel craze has claimed the life of a youth and left another seriously injured in Hayat Nagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad, police said on Sunday.

A youth who was performing stunts on a motorcycle with his friend riding pillion was involved in an accident on the national highway at Pedda Amberpet, near Hayanth Nagar police station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

The young man was doing stunts on a sports bike for Instagram reels, but he lost control and both fell, sustaining serious injuries.

They were admitted to a private clinic. Shiva, who was a pillion rider and not wearing a helmet, died on Sunday.

The road was wet from the rain and it is believed that the bicycle slipped and the tragedy occurred.

Many youngsters on motorbikes are seen performing stunts on busy roads in and around Hyderabad. Some do the stunts not just for the thrill but also to post on social media to get more likes.

They show off their expensive motorcycles and perform risky stunts on the wide roads of the IT corridor and on the highways surrounding the city.

Bike stunts are a common sight during the night hours in Hitec City, Gachibowli and other parts of the IT corridor. The youth also indulge in bike racing on roads around Hussain Sagar in the heart of the city.

Citizens say the problem persists despite repeated warnings and police action in all three police districts, endangering the lives of other road users and causing noise pollution.
