NBC’s primetime Olympic Games schedule tonight has plenty of big moments to showcase, as the Paris 2024 Games program featured Simone Biles and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team competing at these Games for the first time. Elsewhere, the U.S. national team played Germany in the group stage, and the U.S. men’s basketball team opened the group stage against Serbia.

NBC primetime Olympics program tonight

NBC’s “Primetime in Paris” today will feature the swimming finals, the women’s gymnastics qualifying events, the women’s skateboarding street finals and a report from Surfing Day 2.

How to watch the Olympics in primetime today

In primetime, starting at 8 p.m. ET (2 a.m. the next day in Paris), NBC’s big broadcast will air live and focus on the biggest events of the day with “Primetime in Paris.” That block will have a narrative lens with more in-depth coverage opportunities. Mike Tirico will host from the famous Trocadero in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. The show will typically open with highlights of a Team USA gold medal, with the final hour of the show focusing on the evening’s event.

Yes. Although this is not a medal round, Simone Biles will be on tonight’s primetime programming. Biles appeared to twist her leg during the pre-event warm-up, but that didn’t deter Biles. Cecile Landi, one of Biles’ coaches, told reporters that there were no concerns about Biles’ ability to compete in Paris. Landi added that Biles was experiencing “a little bit of pain in her calf. She was feeling it a little bit on the floor.”

Biles competed in qualifying rounds today for the floor exercise, vault and balance beam, earning the highest scores of any American in each event.
