The Cowboys enter the new season with high expectations, despite a disappointing end to the previous year. While they won another division title in the disappointing NFC East, they were sent home unlucky after losing in the Wild Card round to the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers. Even with players like Dak Prescott running the offense, many wonder how long this core can last. There’s no doubt that Dallas has the tools to make the playoffs again, but how far they’ll go is another story.

On the other hand, the Browns are hoping to find some consistency after another chaotic campaign. Their defense has been their saving grace, as they have dealt with a slew of key injuries on the offensive side of the ball in 2023. Their low-scoring tactics seemed to work, as they had one of the NFL’s best defenses, leading to an 11-6 record that punched their ticket to the playoffs by finishing second in the AFC North. Cleveland’s luck ran out in the postseason, however, as the team was blown out by the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round. If the Browns can stay healthy this year, in a rather tough AFC North, they should still be in the playoff conversation.

The Browns have an 18-14 record against the Cowboys, including winning the last meeting in 2020.

MY CHOICE: Browns win, 24-20
