How to Get the Kobold Pickaxe Treasure in WoW The War Within

Every zone in WoW The War Within has a handful of treasures hidden off the beaten path. Finding them will net you everything from non-combat pets and toys to useful gear, and the Kobold Pickaxe is one of the better ones.

In WoW The War Withinthe Kobold Pickaxe should spawn at 62.57, 43.27 in the Island Dorn. You should find it resting on the edge of a empty pedestal in Mourning Risean earthen ruin full of kobolds.

The Kobold Pickaxe’s spawn timer is shared with everyone nearby, and it disappears after you pick it up, so it’s hard to get your hands on, especially on populated shards at populated times.

When you pick it up you get a net “Pivel” by Kobold Mastermind, a rare two-handed axe with endurance, strength or dexterity, and versatility.

Is the Kobold Pickaxe spawn a bug in WoW The War Within?

Yes, the spawning of the Kobold Pickaxe seems to be bugged starting September 2nd. According to players on Wowhead, the Kobold Pickaxe is not spawning as it should; one user reported in the comments that the Pickaxe did not spawn after camping at the spawn location for two hours and switching shards.

Another player reportedly received a message from Blizzard customer service stating that they have “received multiple reports of this issue and can confirm it is not working as intended” and that the developers currently “do not have a workaround or solution.”
