With that in mind, here’s how you check the battle log Rust.

To check the battle log Rust, press F1 and type “combatlog” in the console window. You can speed up this process by creating a key combination so that you don’t have to type the command every time you want to view the log file. For example: enter “input.bind P consoletoggle;combatlog”. to open the battle log by pressing P once on your keyboard. You should press your Esc key as usual to close the console.

Here are all statistics visible in Rust battle log:

  • Time: The time of the server when the battle started.
  • Attacker: The player who started the battle.
  • Identification: The attacker’s server ID.
  • Goal: The player or object on the receiving end of the attacker.
  • Identification: Server ID of the target.
  • Weapon: The weapon used in combat.
  • Ammunition: The type of ammunition used in the battle.
  • Area: Body parts of the target, such as legs, chest, or abdomen, where the bullets hit.
  • Distance: Space in meters between the attacker and the target.
  • Old HP: The target’s total health before combat began.
  • New HP: The target’s total health after being hit.
  • Information: The target’s status, such as wounded or killed, depends on his health during the battle.

The Rust combat log also has five other stats: Hits, integrity, travel, mismatch and desync; you don’t need to worry about these though; they are all server related. Every Rust By default, the server stores a log of the last 100 battle events for each player. This can vary from server to server, as server administrators set the size of the battle log.

When your target’s intel is injured, or their health update is significantly lower, it’s the perfect time to finish them off to get their loot. On the other hand, if you’re a fair distance away and see multiple attacker IDs in your log, it might be wise to call for backup or run away.

The battle log adds events that happen to you every 10 seconds, so it’s not instant information, which could have made PvP even more challenging Rust.
