How to Beat Rule 18 of the Password Game: Atomic Numbers That Add Up to 200

The Password Game by Neal. Fun requires concentration — especially when it comes to rule 18. Solving Rule 18 requires you to strategically find atomic numbers that add up to 200We’re here to tell you what an atomic number is and how to add them together to get a specific number.

How to beat rule 18 of The Password Game and more about atomic numbers.

To fulfill rule 18 of The Password Game, you must choose elements from the periodic table and add their atomic numbers together equal to 200.

Each element in the periodic table has an atomic number, and you probably already have a few of them in your password, some on purpose, some by accident.

Tip:

Determine what numbers you need to use to reach 200. Use a spreadsheet or take notes to keep track.

In my puzzle above, the elements V, Zn, and N are highlighted, but the only atomic element I entered was Zn to satisfy rule 12. This may happen to you too, because you need a Roman numeral or a random element appears in your captcha.

Fortunately, depending on how many atomic elements you’ve added, you may be just one character away from solving line 18. Here are some steps you can follow after you’ve simplified your password:

  1. Find out and write down the numbers that should remain. These are your constant values which are equal to the total atomic number. See the table below for more atomic values.
  2. Add these constant values together to get your Atomic total.
  3. Subtract that Atomic total of 200.
  4. Than add the atomic number(s) to get the sum of the atomic total to 200.
  5. This satisfies the rule.

Below we have included a table of all the atomic numbers for each element. If you find yourself exceeding the limit, please note that most rules are not case sensitive, while atomic elements are. Simply moving an element to lowercase will remove it from the total count towards 200, potentially allowing you to add another symbol.

Tip:

You may inadvertently add an additional atomic element to the rules in the future, so check this list regularly to see if you need to make any changes.

Tip:

The Password Game is definitely a challenge. If you struggle with rule 18, or any other rule, you can always try starting the game over. While that means you’ll have to redo a lot of your work, starting fresh can give you a much-needed breath of fresh air. Plus, knowing what rules to expect can help you with the earlier rules as well.
