HOME-HEAVY 2024 SKYHAWK VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE REVEALED

MARTIN, Tennessee – A total of 13 home games – tied for the most in NCAA Division I history for the University of Tennessee at Martin volleyball program – will highlight Skyhawk’s 2024 schedule, announced today by head coach. Jaclynn Wilson.

The 13 regular-season home games tie UT Martin’s 2022, 2018, 2014, 2011 and 1997 teams for the most in a single season since the program entered Division I play in 1992. The Skyhawk Classic tournament returns this fall for the first time since 2022 and seventh time since 2011.

All told, UT Martin will face four postseason contenders in the 2023 season as part of a dozen games against teams with winning records last fall. Also on the 2024 schedule are two Division I-level debutants (North Alabama, Missouri) and teams from seven different conferences.

Year 10 of the Wilson era officially begins on August 30, when the Skyhawks take on defending Southern Conference champions The Citadel and Grambling State in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. UT Martin closes out the Crimson Tide Invitational the following day against tournament host Alabama.

Next up is the two-day, four-team Skyhawk Classic. UT Martin hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff and North Alabama on Sept. 6, then plays Missouri State on Sept. 7.

The four-game home series concludes with a Sept. 10 game against Southern Illinois, the first of three straight opponents that appeared in the postseason last year.

The non-conference games conclude on Sept. 13-14, when the Skyhawks travel to the Mizzou Invitational to take on Missouri (which won a game in the 2023 NCAA Tournament) and Kansas City (the reigning Summit League regular-season champions).

After a nearly two-week break, UT Martin opens Ohio Valley Conference play on Sept. 27-28 with a pair of games in Little Rock. The Skyhawks then travel to Southern Indiana on Oct. 1, before taking another 10 days off.

A five-game home slate is scheduled for mid-October, with UT Martin hosting Morehead State (October 11-12), Lindenwood (October 18-19) and Southern Indiana (October 22).

The Skyhawks will make their first-ever visit to Western Illinois on October 25-26, before traveling to Music City for a two-game series against Tennessee State on November 1-2.

Four of the final six games of the regular season will be played at home, as UT Martin takes on Southeast Missouri on Nov. 8-9. After a quick two-game series at SIUE on Nov. 14-15, the Skyhawks close out the regular season on Nov. 19-20 against Tennessee Tech.

The OVC Championship tournament is scheduled for November 24-26 and will be hosted by the regular season champion.
