Hockey with strict goalkeepers on the ice is the sport of the future

It’s been a brutal 10-15 years for hockey goalies everywhere. They had a great time when players like Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, and Dominik Hasek were all between the posts. That was the golden age for goalies everywhere. But over the years, the game has become so much faster and so much more skillful. Instead of kids growing up wanting to be the next Marty, you had guys like Pavel Datsyuk and Patrick Kane inspiring a new generation of players who wanted to bully goalies mercilessly every chance they got.

Social media is full of highlight reels posting some of the sickest goals you’ve ever seen. Goalies are being called every conceivable name. There was a time when guys would just put the puck in the net. But that’s not enough anymore. These days they have to dangle the goalie’s dick and make him swing across the ice like a fish out of water before they put the puck in the net.

The fact is that goalies have to get in on the action a little bit. They can’t just stand between the posts and keep taking all the abuse. They have to dish out a little bit of it themselves, even if it means committing a goalie-on-goalie crime. Personally, I think you should throw a skater in the net without a bucket, but in the meantime, playing 6v6 with only goalies on the ice should be enough.
