Hide-And-Seek FPS Midnight Murder Club is hosting a closed beta next week

The team behind Knockout City is going in a very different direction for their next game. Velan Studios recently revealed Midnight Murder Club, a PvP shooter set (mostly) in a pitch-black mansion. Players use their flashlights to sneak through the ornate halls, taking down other players and sometimes even stealing valuables before each round ends. And soon, you’ll be able to do it yourself with an upcoming playtest.

You can request access to future playtests over on its Steam page now , and GameSpot has learned that a closed beta will begin on August 22 and run until August 26. If, like me, you never really wanted to stop playing hide-and-seek and adult life forced it upon you, Midnight Murder Club might be one to check out.

I recently participated in the alpha test of the game and had a great time. While the game is clearly different from Knockout City in most ways, it retains a key ingredient in how funny it can be, often as a result of the community itself creating silly moments. I wrote more about this in my recent Midnight Murder Club preview.

There may be more play sessions in the future. In any case, the game is scheduled for release on PC this fall.
