Here are the 2024 Taunton Daily Gazette Girls Lacrosse All-Scholastics

Another high school girls lacrosse season has begun in the Greater Taunton area.

Dighton-Rehoboth (11-7, 5-4 South Coast Conference) led the way locally, reaching the Division 3 Round of 32 before losing to No. 8 Bedford. Bridgewater-Raynham (7-15, 2-2 Southeast Conference) also re-qualified for the postseason, reaching the Division 1 Round of 32 where it lost to eventual champion No. 1 Central Catholic.

Bristol-Plymouth (4-13, 4-8 Mayflower Athletic Conference) has won all season against both the Bristol Aggie and Southeastern, while Taunton (0-17, 0-11 Hockomock League) nearly surprised the Falcons and fell just short against New Bedford and Milford.

With the spring season now behind us, here’s a final look back at the athletes from the Greater Taunton area who stood out from the crowd and earned their spot as 2024 winners Taunton Daily Gazette Girls Lacrosse All-Scholastics.

Player of the year

Karina Bosco, Dighton-Rehoboth

The junior forward, draw specialist and co-captain continued her dominance of the Greater Taunton lacrosse scene this spring, setting an area record 91 goals and 18 assists for 109 points. She also recorded 112 draw controls, 39 ground balls and caused 18 turnovers to help lead the Falcons to another postseason berth. Quick and with a great eye for goal, she notched her 200th career goal during a six-goal showing against Somerset Berkley.

An SCC All-Star and the team MVP, Bosco was also the Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023 and is a member of the field hockey staff. She has already verbally committed to continue her academic and lacrosse careers at Plymouth State University in 2025.

First Team All-Scholastics

Cali Melo, Taunton

The senior midfielder and captain capped off a strong high school lacrosse career as the Tigers’ centerpiece. She led the offense with 44 goals and 22 assists for 66 points, also recording 99 draw controls and grabbing 37 ground balls. She finished her high school career with 124 goals, 111 draw controls and 37 assists. Melo, a Hockomock All-Star, was also named to the 2023-24 Taunton Daily Gazette Girls Basketball All-Scholastic and member of the soccer team. She will continue her academic, basketball and lacrosse careers at Nichols College in the fall.

Leena Haikola, Bridgewater-Raynham

The senior defender and co-captain capped off a solid high school lacrosse career by leading the way from the backfield, and once again proved to be a key player in clearing the ball for the Trojans. Praised by coach Bill O’Connell as a major reason BR qualified for the postseason, he said she raised the level of play of those around her. Haikola, an SEC All-Star, was also a member of the football team and will continue her academic career at the University of Central Florida in the fall.

Emily Keefe, Bridgewater-Raynham

The junior midfielder and co-captain showed once again why she is one of the best lacrosse players in the area, scoring 75 goals and 36 assists for an area record 111 points. She had a seven-goal game against Bishop Feehan and has amassed 171 goals and 65 assists for a total of 236 points in three years with the Trojans. She was described by O’Connell as BR’s catalyst who is capable of playing any position. An SEC All-Star, Keefe was also named a 2023 Taunton Daily Gazette Field Hockey All-Scholastic and a 2023-24 Taunton Daily Gazette Girls’ Indoor Track and Field, All-Scholastic.

Lexi White, Bridgewater-Raynham

The senior midfielder capped off a solid high school lacrosse career this spring with 21 goals and seven assists for 28 points. O’Connell described her as a “bulldog” on the court because of her offensive, defensive and ball-clearing skills, and she was also named an SEC All-Star. She will continue her academic career at Providence College in the fall.

Emma Ericson, Bristol-Plymouth

The sophomore forward was once again the vanguard of the Craftsmen offense, with a team-high 64 goals and 57 draw controls. She scored her 99th and 100th career goals with just 35 seconds between them against Old Colony in the season finale before adding seven more against the Cougars. A MAC All-Star and the team’s MVP, Ericson was also named a 2023-24 Taunton Daily Gazette Girls Basketball All-Scholastic and is a member of the soccer team. She was also voted co-captain in 2025.

Addison Melusky, Bristol-Plymouth

The sophomore has 23 goals and 15 assists for 38 points in two seasons with the Craftsmen and has five draw controls this spring. Melusky was honored with the team’s Sportsmanship Award and was voted co-captain in 2025.

Mari Levesque, Dighton-Rehoboth

The junior forward and midfielder established himself as a key part of the Falcons offense this spring, scoring 37 goals and 23 assists for 60 points, as well as 13 ground balls, six caused turnovers and five draw controls. Levesque was named an SCC All-Star.

Gia Papa, Dighton-Rehoboth

The sophomore forward established himself as another offensive weapon at the Falcons’ disposal this spring, tallying 31 goals and 35 assists for 66 points, as well as nine ground balls, five draw controls and a forced turnover. An SCC honorable mention, Papa is also a member of the football and basketball teams.

Olivia Thibert, Dighton-Rehoboth

The junior midfielder, draw specialist and co-captain again played a key role in the Falcons’ success, with 35 goals and 11 assists for 46 points, as well as 44 draw controls, 17 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Thibert was named an SCC All-Star.
