TORONTO — Former Canada coach John Herdman says he will cooperate with a Canada Soccer investigation into what CEO and general secretary Kevin Blue described as “a systemic ethical lapse” at the organization.

But Herdman declined to provide details about his experiences at the helm of the Canadian men and women on the issue of espionage, saying he would share that with Canada Soccer’s internal review

Herdman left the Canadian men’s national team last August to become coach of Toronto FC (Major League Soccer).

Bev Priestman, a former Herdman assistant who took over the Canadian women’s team two years after Herdman moved up to the men’s national team in January 2018, has been sent home from the Paris Olympics amid allegations that team officials spied on New Zealand via drones ahead of their opening match of the Games.
