“Thank you all for the prayers,” Autumn Rogers said in a Facebook post. “For those who don’t know, Hammer was involved in a freak incident that resulted in his car going up in flames. Emergency personnel were able to get him out of his car. He walked 3rd 2 degree burns on his armnd degree (burns) to his legs, and some minor burns to his face. He is in the pediatric ICU at Baptist.

“They have his pain under control and he is in pretty good spirits now. Keep praying and I will update as I know more. Hoak Kluver is also in about 2nd degree burns to his arm, getting little brother out of the car. Thanks to everyone who helped. Too many to mention. Race family is the best!”

In another update from Autumn, doctors have his pain under control and are moving him from the ICU to a regular room.

“Bad news we are here until Monday-Tuesday when they will decide if he gets shots or not,” she wrote. “Thank you all for the prayers, calls, texts it has meant a lot and kept his spirits high. Love seeing everyone #hammerstrong you guys are the best. #70Khasmyheart #kluverracing Go get them Jordan, Jett and Cooper.”
