Shortstop Gunnar Henderson can become the third Baltimore Orioles player to win the Major League Baseball All-Star Game’s Home Run Derby.

The former Morgan Academy Prep All-American will compete in the home run derby at 7 p.m. Monday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, televised on ESPN.

Cal Ripken Jr. and Miguel Tejada are the only Orioles to ever win the home run derby.

This is the size:

  • All eight batters will compete in the first round with a three-minute round or a maximum of 40 minutes, whichever comes first. The four players who hit the most home runs advance.
  • In the semi-finals, the pool returns, with the remaining four players being placed in positions 1-4 based on the number of home runs they hit in Round 1. At this stage, the same three-minute limit or 40-pitch maximum still applies.
  • The two finalists will compete against each other in a final round of two minutes or a maximum of 27 pitches.
