Hearts manager wanted: Derek McInnes to focus fully on Kilmarnock

Derek McInnes is unhappy at being linked with the Hearts vacancy and insists he is “fully” committed to Kilmarnock.

Steven Naismith was sacked as Hearts head coach on Sunday after eight straight defeats in all competitions.

McInnes, 53, led Killie to fourth place in the Scottish Premiership last season and this season they have competed in the European qualifiers.

When asked if it was a compliment to be linked with Hearts, he replied: “No, not really.

“I don’t really pay attention to it. My job and focus is here. I’m at an age now where when you’re associated with things or when your job is under pressure, people are talking about it, I don’t really feel like dwelling on it.

“My full responsibility is at Kilmarnock.”
