“Under the leadership of Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, India has witnessed significant employment growth over the years. Employment has increased by almost 36%, creating approximately 170 million jobs between 2016-2017 and 2022-2023,” the minister wrote on X.

Puri’s comment comes a day after Kharge hit out at the Center saying “lies, deceit, fraud, loot and publicity are the five adjectives that best describe the BJP government at the Centre”.

“Lies, deception, counterfeiting, loot and publicity are the five adjectives that best describe your government! Your drumbeat regarding a 100-day plan was a cheap PR stunt! On May 16, 2024, you also claimed that you had received input of over 20 lakh people for the 2047 roadmap. RTI filed with PMO refused to bring out details, exposing your LIES!” said the Congress President.

‘Kharge too fixated on party’s Shehzada’s unemployment’: Puri

Continuing his attack on the Congress president, Puri said, “Let me also remind them that India’s economic trajectory shows sustainable employment creation in key sectors. We are on track to become the third largest economy in the world very soon, from eleventh, say famous economists. and the policy left us in 2014.”

“While we provided direct and indirect employment to our youth, India’s GDP grew at an average of over 6.5% over the same period. Indian labor market indicators show that the unemployment rate has fallen to 3.2% in 2022-2023,” he added.

“Agriculture remains dominant, employing more than 45% of the workforce, with a gradual shift towards manufacturing and services. According to PLFS, unemployment among youth (age 15-29 years) has fallen from 17.8% in 2017-2018 to 10% in 2022-2023,” said Puri.

“While Mr. Kharge sees ‘rush,’ he appears unaware that the employee population ratio increased by nearly 26% between 2017 and 2023.”

“He’s clearly looking in the wrong places and getting false data, or perhaps he’s just too preoccupied with holding his imploding party together and buying into all the lies his advisors are selling him; or he is just too fixated on the ‘unemployment’ of his party’s traveling Shehzada,” Puri added.

’10 paper leaks during UPA regime’: Union minister

Reacting to Kharge’s attack on Prime Minister Modi over paper leaks, Hardeep Singh Puri said, “On the scourge of paper leaks, it seems that Congress, which once had a Prime Minister who was never informed of anything, now has a party. ” president who is also not kept informed of the actual ruling trio.”

“He should have known that among the many scams his party invented during long periods of power was the phenomenon of paper leaks. There were at least ten cases of major paper leaks during the Congress-led UPA regimes (not to mention countless smaller ones),” Puri added.
