The Haason Reddick era with the New York Jets got off to a rocky start, to say the least.

The pass rusher, who was traded to the Jets from the Philadelphia Eagles four months ago, requested a trade from the team, while the request was delayed due to contract disputes.

Whether Reddick will actually be traded remains to be seen, as the team released a statement saying it will not trade him, but fans continued to harass him over his short stint with the Jets.

Requesting a trade before a snap is played is just one scenario that happens to the New York Jets

The Jets traded Reddick in April after the 29-year-old sought a raise while still with the Eagles. After an offseason of failed negotiations, Reddick skipped both mandatory minicamp and training camp. Now it’s unclear what will happen next.

New York was hoping to land an elite defensive end in Reddick after he was named to back-to-back Pro Bowl teams the past two seasons. Last year, he had 38 tackles, 11 sacks and a forced fumble. He leads the league in forced fumbles in 2022 with five and also has 16 sacks.

If the Jets can keep Reddick, he could help them finally become a playoff team after a 13-year drought. If Reddick refuses to play, New York may have to settle for what it can get in a trade.
