Guides on how to watch soccer in the United States

Here in the United States, soccer fans have many opportunities to watch this beautiful game.

In addition to the rapid growth of the sport in its home country, the general fandom of the sport is also increasing. Millions of Americans now watch European soccer every weekend. This is thanks to content from England, Spain, Germany and Italy, to name a few. The multitude of clubs, leagues and tournaments at our disposal is something to behold.

Still, it raises a few concerns. Or at least challenges.

Media rights are valuable. Advertising money brings a lot of money to the channels and providers that broadcast football. As the sport becomes more popular, more and more channels and providers want to get a piece of the pie.

It used to be quite simple. The Premier League was broadcast on NBC or FOX channels, beIN SPORTS had the rights to LaLiga. Of course, we had fewer matches on average, but you could easily know where the matches would be.

Now, it’s not that simple. Part of that is due to the development of streaming. The biggest downside is that leagues are spread out and can be broadcast on linear TV or streaming only. On the plus side, fans do have access to every game in most major leagues around the world. It just requires more subscriptions, which is frustrating.

Football TV guides

To help alleviate those frustrations, World Soccer Talk has put together an in-depth look at how to watch some of the world’s most popular leagues. Keep in mind that this is for viewers in the United States only. Different countries have their own providers and channels for the major leagues and competitions around the world.

These guides do much more than tell you which channel is showing LaLiga, for example. It gives the general format for the timing of each weekend’s match days. It also outlines the related cup competitions for each league and how that can affect the competition. Finally, it provides links to the schedule. From there, you can see the actual times and dates for matches in the upcoming calendar.

More than competitions

The following guides do more than just list leagues to watch. There are also guides for those interested in cutting the cord, learning more about soccer, and finding supporter guides in the United States. Finally, there’s the ultimate streaming and TV eBook.
