Grange hospital worker lied to woman to sexually abuse her, court heard

Giving evidence via video link, the woman said she had not seen or known the other alleged victim while on the ward.

Defense lawyer Andrew Davies asked the woman about the dose of morphine she had been given before Crump first examined her on August 13, and whether it had made her “dizzy or confused”.

“A little tired,” she said, but added that it didn’t make her sleepy.

The woman said Mr Crump performed a bladder scan on her twice, touching her vagina both times.

On the second occasion, she said he also inappropriately touched her buttocks, as well as her breasts, after she asked if there was any possibility she was pregnant.

The first bladder scan was recorded in the patient’s notes by Mr Crump at 1.25pm BST that day.

But the woman said another nurse later told her that Mr Crump had “lied” on those notes and that he had recorded a higher urine level than was actually the case.

The woman had a conversation with the same nurse after the second alleged incident of inappropriate touching.

“We started talking about what he was doing, the bladder scans, and that’s where we talked about it,” the woman said.

“As soon as I told the nurses, they called the police,” she said.

She added that the nurse responded by telling her: “If he had done that to my children, I would hunt him down.”

Mr. Crump denies the allegations and the trial continues.
