Governor’s Office Appoints Scott Ramsey to Vacant School Board Seat 5

Subtitle

Position vacant since November

Body

On Friday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of William “Scott” Ramsey to the Osceola County School Board.

He will fill the District 5 seat on the board that has been vacant since Erika Booth left to run in the special election for District 35 of the state House of Representatives in November. He is already running in a five-way election for that seat this year; the primary is Aug. 20.

“I was asked to apply to be appointed (to complete the term),” Ramsey said. “And we didn’t hear back until (Friday).”

Ramsey, a fourth-generation Osceola County resident, owns and operates Ramsey Cattle, Ramsey Feed Company, LLC and PR Sod, LLC. A former Silver Spurs Rodeo Big Boss, he continues to chair the Rodeo Committee and serves on the Osceola County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, among other organizations.
