The Council of State of the Republic of Cuba has analyzed the execution of the timetable for the implementation process of the government measures to correct disruptions and stimulate the economy in the year 2024, in an ordinary meeting chaired by the president of this body, Esteban Lazo Hernández; and with the participation of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, both members of the Political Bureau.
Marrero Cruz stressed that since the last session of the Cuban Parliament in July of this year, the work system has been maintained, with continuous follow-up by the government’s economic group in the implementation of the approved measures and in the analysis of new proposals.

He also pointed out that progress has continued to be made in the forecasts aimed at restarting national production, generating foreign currency earnings for the country, the macroeconomic stabilization program, fiscal discipline, reducing the budget deficit, promoting exports and reducing imports, strengthening the socialist state-owned company – as the main player in the Cuban economy -, the process of bankarization and other issues that affect the country’s population and economy.
Esteban Lazo, in turn, shared the actions that the parliamentary committees had to develop in support of the government’s projections, in order to contribute to the approved measures through their consultative work to the National Assembly and the Council of State and through the system of People’s Power.
Subsequently, the members of the Council of State approved the decree laws “On Cuban Sign Language” and “On the abolition of the National Institute for Social Security”.
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE REPRESENTATIVE TO HIS CONSTITUTORS
Accountability is a pre-eminently political, democratic, participatory and unique exercise; an essential pillar of the Cuban political system; in which the population actively and directly participates, as true protagonists, in the governance of the State and the government, from their own small homeland, neighborhood and community, argued Esteban Lazo about this important exercise.
The Secretary of the Council of State, Homero Acosta Álvarez, announced that it is expected that more than 65,000 accountability meetings will be held throughout Cuba. At the same time, he shared the actions included in the program of guidelines and the timetable at national, provincial and municipal levels for the effective development of this process.
During the meeting, the Council of State approved the proposal to clarify the Plan of Affairs of the meetings of this body in the months of October to December, which relate to issues of great importance to the population and which concern the economic and social situation of the country.
